Building Manager

About the role

The Building Manager will be responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of Tlhabane Square. You will act as the primary point of contact for tenants, coordinate service providers, and ensure the building operates within budget and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate daily with tenants to ensure satisfaction and address concerns.
• Interpret and implement safety and security standards, including emergency protocols.
• Oversee hygiene and cleanliness of all common areas.
• Lead the maintenance supervisor, plan proactive maintenance, and conduct routine inspections.
• Scope, motivate, and execute unplanned maintenance and minor OPEX projects.
• Prepare weekly updates on inspections and projects, reporting to the FM team.
• Log OPEX and emergency requests via the Facilities Helpdesk.
• Assist with budgeting, approve maintenance quotes under R1000, and forward larger quotes for approval.
• Support the development and management of the annual maintenance budget.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or building management.
• Strong knowledge of OHS regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
• Excellent communication skills for tenant and service‑provider interaction.
• Organised, detail‑oriented, and capable of handling emergencies.
