Broker Regional Sales Manager – Coastal Region (Durban)

About the role

Our client, a leading short‑term insurer, is seeking a strategic Broker Regional Sales Manager for the Coastal Region based in Durban. The role will lead the regional broker distribution strategy, drive sustainable growth, and expand market share while ensuring profitable business acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional sales and distribution plans aligned with the IFA channel strategy.
• Drive growth in Gross Written Premium, policy count, retention and profitability across broker segments.
• Identify market opportunities and launch initiatives to improve broker productivity and penetration.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key brokers, principals and strategic partners.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Specialist Market Advisers to meet sales and service targets.
• Monitor portfolio performance, analyse data and ensure sound commercial decision‑making.
• Oversee broker onboarding, agreement implementation and accreditation requirements.
• Promote adoption of digital tools and ensure compliance with FAIS, regulatory and governance standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, finance, insurance or related field.
• FAIS compliance with RE1 and RE5 qualifications.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in insurance distribution, broker management or commercial insurance leadership.
• 5–8 years’ experience leading geographically dispersed sales teams.
• Proven track record of developing strategic broker partnerships and delivering profitable growth.
• Deep understanding of short‑term insurance, broker distribution models and regulatory frameworks.
