Brewing Team Leader

About the role

The Brewing Team Leader is responsible for guiding shift teams to achieve production and quality targets in a brewery environment. This role combines hands‑on maintenance oversight, quality control, and team coaching to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations.

Key responsibilities

• Verify that the team follows work instructions and maintenance schedules, performing required maintenance tasks each shift.
• Coordinate running repairs with the Brewing Process Artisan, call in additional resources when needed, and communicate outstanding work to the Maintenance Planner.
• Ensure knowledge transfer on maintenance and quality control between artisans, operators, and other team members.
• Conduct daily shift meetings, review past performance, and record issues on a gap list with clear accountabilities.
• Lead end‑of‑shift and hand‑over meetings, communicating production performance, schedule changes, and any process or quality issues.
• Perform quality trend analysis, initiate problem‑solving exercises, and involve specialist resources such as the core lab when required.
• Coach team members in problem‑solving techniques (e.g., 5 Why, quick‑fix) and support autonomous maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead operational shift teams in a manufacturing or brewing setting.
• Strong understanding of maintenance schedules, repair processes, and quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills for daily briefings, hand‑overs, and cross‑functional coordination.
• Experience in conducting quality trend analysis and initiating corrective actions.
• Capability to mentor and coach staff on technical and procedural matters.
