Branch Manager – Steel & Industrial Hardware (Epping, Cape Town)

About the role

Our client, a well‑established supplier of steel, tube and industrial hardware, is looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead the Epping branch in Cape Town. You will be responsible for overall branch performance, overseeing sales, customer service, warehousing, distribution and financial results.

Key responsibilities

• Take full ownership of branch profitability and daily operations.
• Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team across sales, warehouse, distribution and administration.
• Set and monitor targets for sales, margin, tonnage and profitability.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer base.
• Maintain strong relationships with key customers and ensure high‑quality service.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and management reports.
• Control expenses, manage stock levels and purchasing requirements.
• Oversee debtors, credit management and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement and report on performance, challenges and growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent; relevant business or management qualifications are a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of management experience in a branch or operational setting.
• Proven experience in the steel, tube and industrial hardware industry.
• Strong commercial, financial and operational understanding.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, stock management and debtor control.
• Excellent leadership and customer‑relationship skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to work under pressure.
