Bookkeeper – Trial Balance (Windfarm) – Eastern Cape

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Bookkeeper to manage the trial balance for a windfarm project in the Eastern Cape. The role is based in Johannesburg and involves full‑time responsibility for accurate financial recording, payroll processing, and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Capture all invoices and payroll data into the company‑approved accounting and payroll systems.
• Maintain an organized filing system in line with POPI/PAIA and other statutory requirements.
• Process monthly payroll, including calculations, deductions (PAYE, UIF, SDL, garnishee orders, union fees) and liaison with relevant authorities.
• Perform bank statement reconciliations for cash, EFT, speed‑point and debtor deposits.
• Execute month‑end creditor reconciliations, ensure timely payments and manage petty‑cash disbursements.
• Prepare and submit required reports to WRA, IOD and other regulatory bodies within prescribed timelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll administration.
• Strong knowledge of South African tax and labour legislation (PAYE, UIF, SDL, POPI/PAIA).
• Ability to maintain accurate records and meet statutory filing deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Proficiency with payroll software.
• Bank reconciliation skills.
