Bookkeeper – Pretoria (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join a reputable accounting firm in Pretoria North. The successful candidate will manage day‑to‑day bookkeeping tasks, ensure compliance with SARS regulations, and support the finance team in delivering accurate financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Process and maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients.
• Perform bank, debtor, creditor and general ledger reconciliations.
• Capture and post financial transactions and maintain fixed‑asset registers.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and assist with monthly accounting cycles.
• Support payroll processing when required.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Liaise with clients to resolve accounting‑related queries and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Proven bookkeeping experience within an accounting practice.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, VAT and SARS submissions.
• Ability to manage multiple client accounts and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Effective communication and client‑relationship abilities.
