Bookkeeper

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Bookkeeper to join our finance team in Durban. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting activities, reconciling accounts and supporting internal control processes within a manufacturing or petroleum environment. You will work closely with the finance manager to ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain debtor and creditor ledgers and ensure timely processing of invoices.
• Prepare trial balances and balance sheets in accordance with accounting standards.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
• Support internal control procedures and assist with audit preparation.
• Generate regular financial reports for management.
• Handle general administrative tasks related to finance operations.

Required profile

• Diploma in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing plant or petroleum industry is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
