Bid Specialist – Tender Management

About the role

The Bid Specialist supports the end‑to‑end tender lifecycle, from opportunity tracking and compliance to proposal development and submission coordination. Working closely with the Tender Manager, coordinators and internal stakeholders, the role ensures that proposals are compliant, competitive and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Tender Manager with planning, tracking and coordinating tender submissions.
• Gather information from stakeholders, develop action plans, submission schedules and trackers to meet internal and client deadlines.
• Develop, compile and quality‑check proposals to ensure compliance with tender requirements and governance standards.
• Research tender opportunities, maintain databases and produce regular reports.
• Leverage digital and AI tools to improve efficiency, knowledge management and proposal quality.

Required profile

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology or related field (NQF level 6 or higher).
• 5–8 years of bid and tender management experience in South African public and private sectors.
• Strong understanding of South African procurement and tender requirements.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with tender management tools.
• Knowledge of ICT solutions such as network infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, managed services and digital platforms.
• Ability to use digital and AI tools for proposal development.
