BI Analyst Developer

About the role

Join a cutting‑edge insurance tech company as a BI Analyst Developer. You will design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions that turn raw data into actionable insights. This hybrid role combines hands‑on coding with analytical problem‑solving.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute complex database queries and perform data analyses.
• Design, build and deploy BI solutions, including reporting tools and OLAP cubes.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and maintain data analytics platforms such as MicroStrategy.
• Conduct unit testing, troubleshoot issues and continuously improve existing BI systems.
• Create visualisations, dashboards and reports for stakeholder projects.
• Maintain technical documentation and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate systems.

Required profile

• South African citizen with a valid ID.
• Matriculation with at least 60% in Mathematics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering or related field (Honours degree highly beneficial).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a BI Developer or Data Analyst.
• Strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• C# and .NET (ASP.NET MVC, Web API, Blazor).
• SQL, T‑SQL, LINQ, relational database design.
• SSAS, SSIS, SSRS.
• Entity Framework.
• HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular.
• MicroStrategy or similar BI platforms.
• Data structures & algorithms.
