Banking Payments Analyst

About the role

A leading digital business is looking for a detail‑oriented Banking Payments Analyst to join its Banking Operations team in Cape Town. The role focuses on monitoring payment processing, investigating transaction issues and supporting payment operations across multiple regions to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve missing, delayed, or incorrect deposit transactions.
• Manage customer payment‑related queries within agreed service levels.
• Monitor payment processing performance, identify operational issues and drive resolutions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct manual credits, reconciliations and analyse banking statements to spot trends and anomalies.
• Support onboarding, testing and integration of new payment providers.
• Review processes, recommend automation and produce detailed analysis reports for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Experience in payments or banking operations, financial services or fintech environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Ownership mindset and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively.
