Backend Software Engineer – Golf Club Management Platform

About the role

Versant is building the next‑generation Golf Club Management platform and needs a Backend Software Engineer to help evolve the BRS Premier product. You will join a team of experienced engineers focused on high‑quality code, mentorship, and end‑to‑end production knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve backend microservices using Java 17 and Spring technologies.
• Write clean, well‑tested, secure, and efficient code that follows the Engineering Code Bar.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: scoping, design, coding, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Provide operational support, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with peers through code reviews, daily stand‑ups, and team discussions, actively seeking feedback.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business value and deliver appropriate solutions.

Required profile

• Foundational experience with Java or a similar object‑oriented language.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, including query optimisation and schema design.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code.
• Willingness to learn from feedback and adapt to new ideas.
