Backend Node.js Developer – R1.1m‑R1.4m PA

About the role

A unique opportunity for backend developers looking to advance their career. Work on global projects for a business operating in over 150 countries, focusing on intelligent, bidirectional vehicle charging.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and operate production‑ready business applications.
• Monitor and operate applications using AWS CloudWatch.
• Apply cloud‑security patterns and concepts to solutions and deployments.
• Develop system solutions that meet quality and delivery requirements.
• Identify risks or impediments, resolve proactively or escalate.
• Ensure compliance with code standards and unit‑testing practices.
• Prepare system and technical documentation according to ISO standards.

Required profile

• Relevant IT degree or equivalent experience.
• Cloud certifications (Developer Associate minimum, Professional preferred).
• Minimum 5 years production experience with Node.js in serverless environments.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on AWS serverless experience (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS).
• Proven experience with automated testing (unit and end‑to‑end).
• Infrastructure as Code experience (CloudFormation preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with design and architecture patterns.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
