AWS & Azure Cloud Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on FinOps Engineer to drive visibility, accountability, and optimisation of cloud spend across our AWS and Microsoft Azure environments. You will collaborate with Finance, Cloud Platform Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Product Owners, Application Teams, Security, Risk and various business units to turn complex billing data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain reliable cost reporting for AWS and Azure, providing spend visibility by business unit, application, product, environment and cost centre.
• Improve tagging, naming conventions, account structures and metadata standards; identify idle, orphaned or mis‑allocated resources.
• Integrate cost data from platforms such as MagicOrange, Snowflake, JDE, CMDBs and observability tools to enhance allocation transparency.
• Identify optimisation opportunities across compute, storage, databases, networking, licensing and managed services; automate rightsizing, scheduling, cleanup, budget alerts and anomaly detection.
• Support management of AWS Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Azure Reservations and Azure Hybrid Benefit.
• Develop recurring FinOps dashboards, allocation reports, savings reports and executive summaries; facilitate regular cost reviews and maintain an optimisation backlog.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cloud cost management and FinOps within AWS and Azure environments.
• Data‑driven mindset with strong analytical skills to translate technical cost drivers into business insights.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, engineering and business teams.
