Automation QA Engineer – Fintech

About the role

We are seeking a talented Automation QA Engineer to join our Technology team within a fast‑growing fintech business. You will be the dedicated quality assurance partner for a product team, ensuring that high‑quality software reaches our customers throughout the Agile lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive manual and automated test cases aligned with industry standards.
• Provide actionable feedback on QA practices and champion continuous improvement.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on defects, track them to closure, and ensure robust resolutions.
• Research emerging testing tools and integrate innovative solutions into our processes.
• Build, maintain, and scale test automation frameworks, including API testing with Rest Assured.
• Deliver demos of testing strategies and results to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Relevant IT tertiary qualification and ISTQB Foundation (or higher) certification.
• 2‑5 years of software testing experience, with 0‑2 years in automation.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Experience in project management and QA methodologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, JavaScript, Python).
• Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks and Rest Assured for API testing.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, Pivotal, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design scalable test automation solutions.
