Auto Electrician – Global Grade 08

About the role

BWE is seeking a qualified Auto Electrician (Global Grade 08) to perform electrical repairs and maintenance on earthmoving equipment both in workshops and on customer sites. The role requires strong technical knowledge of Caterpillar systems and a commitment to safety and professional service.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out auto‑electrical repairs and maintenance on earthmoving equipment in workshops or at customer sites.
• Remove and install auto‑electrical components.
• Ensure safe work practices and comply with contamination control requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve customer auto‑electrical breakdowns quickly and efficiently.
• Compile accurate service reports and parts lists for machine repairs.
• Manage own administration including labour booking, service reports, part returns and expenses.
• Maintain field service vehicle and equipment.
• Represent BWE professionally on customer sites.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification and a recognized auto‑electrician trade qualification.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience on electrical and electronic systems of Caterpillar machines.
• Valid driver’s licence and sound knowledge of safety rules and mining operations.
• Familiarity with ISO quality systems and good technical report writing skills.
• Proficiency with computer applications such as SIS, STW, ET and Microsoft Office.
