Audit Executive

About the role

The Audit Executive will provide independent oversight and strategic direction for the group’s audit and risk framework. Reporting to the Internal Audit Director, this senior leader will shape audit strategy, embed data‑driven techniques, and ensure robust governance across a national footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the group‑wide audit strategy and annual plans, aligning coverage with strategic objectives and emerging risks.
• Promote and monitor internal control effectiveness at both strategic and operational levels.
• Lead technology‑enabled auditing, leveraging data analytics and Power BI for insight generation and continuous monitoring.
• Coordinate combined assurance activities with Risk, Compliance, and External Audit teams.
• Oversee production of clear audit reports and high‑level summaries for Board and Audit Committee reviews.
• Manage anonymous reporting channels, conduct initial fraud investigations, and guide outsourced fraud assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Risk Management (NQF Level 8 Post‑Graduate Diploma or Honours acceptable).
• Chartered Accountant (CA SA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification; cyber‑security or digital/AI certifications are a plus.
• Minimum 8 years post‑articles internal audit experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Relevant experience within the Fast‑Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
