Associate Banking & Finance - Markets Attorney (GMRA, GMSLA, ISDA)

About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a mid‑level Banking & Finance Attorney to join a specialist legal team supporting a global banking client. The role focuses on complex derivatives documentation, repo and securities‑lending agreements, and close‑out netting analysis within a sophisticated markets environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse repo and securities‑lending master agreements (GMRA, GMSLA, MSLA, MRA) against internal policies and legal opinion requirements.
• Conduct close‑out netting and enforceability assessments across jurisdictions governed by English and New York law.
• Undertake due‑diligence and risk assessments on counter‑party legal structures, providing practical recommendations.
• Draft, negotiate and execute amendment agreements, supporting remediation and repapering initiatives.
• Liaise with Legal, Credit, Operations and Front‑Office stakeholders, managing expectations and resolving documentation issues.
• Manage documentation review workflows, ensure quality control, and maintain accurate reporting on project milestones.

Required profile

• Admitted Attorney with experience in banking and finance, derivatives documentation, repo or securities‑lending.
• Proven ability to interpret complex legal documents and apply sound legal judgement.
• Experience working with cross‑border teams in EMEA and the United States.
