Assistant Technician – Security Systems

About the role

We are a safety and security company based in Centurion Irene, seeking an entry‑level Assistant Technician to support the installation, maintenance and commissioning of electronic security systems. The role offers hands‑on experience and the chance to develop technical skills in a structured environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist technicians with the physical installation of cameras, controllers, keypads, cabling and brackets.
• Support cable pulling, routing and labelling under the direction of the lead technician.
• Prepare and stage equipment and materials before and during installations.
• Carry out basic testing and fault‑finding activities as instructed.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment on all sites.
• Transport, handle and store tools and equipment responsibly.
• Complete accurate job cards and daily activity records.
• Assist with stock‑taking, loading and delivery of materials and equipment.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
• Basic interest or exposure to electronics, electrical work or IT.
• Physically fit and comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces and diverse site environments.
• Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
• Willingness to learn and grow within a technical environment.
• PSIRA registration or willingness to register.
