Assistant Technical Manager

About the role

Mediclinic Medforum in Arcadia, Pretoria is recruiting an Assistant Technical Manager for a permanent, on-site position. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the role oversees the technical team and manages, improves and optimises technical operations so that buildings and equipment are maintained to their original state. It also acts as the management representative for quality management, continuous improvement and occupational health and safety related to engineering aspects of the facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the management and maintenance of buildings, plant and equipment
• Manage and support technical projects within the hospital
• Manage and mitigate technical operations risk within the hospital
• Oversee and manage on-site contractors and suppliers
• Ensure quality management and continuous improvement within technical operations
• Manage stakeholder relations and client service in the technical environment
• Lead and manage the technical team
• Manage and control the department budget and finances

Required profile

• NQF level 6 engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (heavy current), with Thermodynamics and Electro Technology passed at second-year level
• At least 4 years of post-graduate engineering experience, including exposure to HVAC and auxiliary electrical power supplies
• Desired: experience in a facility management environment
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
