Assistant Store Manager – Mabopane

About the role

Clicks Group Limited is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in delivering excellent service and driving sales at its Mabopane location. This full‑time role offers the chance to develop retail leadership skills in a fast‑moving health and beauty environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in achieving sales, profit and compliance targets.
• Execute promotional activities, cross‑selling and up‑selling initiatives.
• Manage daily operational tasks including stock control, shrinkage, expenses and housekeeping.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure the store reflects the brand image.
• Motivate and direct staff, handle scheduling in line with labour policy, and act as store manager in their absence.
• Drive customer service initiatives to enhance loyalty and meet club‑card participation goals.
• Complete administrative duties such as time‑and‑attendance records and employee documentation.

Required profile

• Grade 12 with at least 50% in Maths and English.
• Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification (or degree – desirable).
• Minimum 1 year experience in an assistant store management role or successful completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme.
• Experience with financial management (budgets, P&L statements, financial ratios).

Required skills

• Strong understanding of retail operations and visual merchandising.
• Ability to analyse sales data and financial performance.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership capabilities.
