Assistant Maintenance Technician (FMCG) – Cape Town

About the role

Our client, a leading food processing company, is looking for an energetic Assistant Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance team in a fast‑moving FMCG environment. This full‑time position offers hands‑on experience with a variety of equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior technicians with routine equipment maintenance.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on mechanical and electrical assets.
• Complete job cards accurately and within the required turnaround time.
• Support breakdown repairs and ensure timely response to call‑outs.
• Maintain a clean and orderly maintenance area.
• Report any deviations from policies and procedures.
• Be available for overtime and standby shifts as required.

Required profile

• Matric qualification (N3) with a focus on Mechanical or Electrical studies.
• Willingness to work in a shift‑based environment and adhere to strict hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment correctly.
