Assistant Lodge Manager & Field Guide – Eastern Cape

About the role

This full‑time position combines two critical functions at a private safari lodge in the Eastern Cape: assisting the lodge manager with daily operations and delivering guided wildlife experiences to guests. Both single applicants and couples are welcome to apply for a long‑term career in a remote reserve setting.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Lodge Manager in overseeing accommodation, food & beverage, stock control and reservations.
• Lead and mentor lodge staff to ensure high service standards.
• Conduct daily game drives, walking safaris and wildlife presentations for guests.
• Maintain accurate records, administer guest bookings and manage PMS systems.
• Ensure health, safety and conservation protocols are followed, including first‑aid and rifle safety.

Required profile

• Previous experience in hospitality or lodge management, preferably in a safari or luxury environment.
• FGASA qualification and DEAT registration for field guides.
• Valid First Aid certification and a current PDP.
• Strong leadership, communication and guest‑relation skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, split shifts and live on‑site.
