Assistant Financial Manager – Financial Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Financial Manager / Financial Accountant will support the Financial Manager in overseeing the financial operations of Kruger Gate Hospitality, including the Kruger Gate Hotel and its subsidiaries. This senior, hands‑on role requires independent management of month‑end accounting, reporting, reconciliations, payroll and statutory compliance within a demanding hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accounting records up to trial balance, processing general‑ledger and sub‑ledger journals.
• Execute monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations, management accounts and financial reporting schedules.
• Analyse income statements, investigate budget variances and assist with annual budgets and forecasts.
• Perform daily and monthly bank, credit‑card and online‑payment reconciliations (Opera PMS, Paystack, merchant reports).
• Reconcile revenue, city, deposit and advance‑deposit ledgers between Opera PMS and Sage 300 (Accpac).
• Process daily revenue journals, cash‑book reconciliations and resolve unreconciled differences.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close, external audit preparation and ad‑hoc financial analysis for management.

Required profile

• Proven experience preparing accounting records to trial balance and delivering month‑end reports.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and commercial judgement.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a hospitality setting.
• Integrity and commitment to maintaining robust internal financial controls.

Required skills

• Opera Property Management System (PMS).
• Sage 300 (Accpac) accounting software.
• Paystack online payment platform.
