Assistant Bookkeeper (Junior)

About the role

We are looking for a highly organized Assistant Bookkeeper to support our director in the daily operations of a busy HVAC company. The role combines bookkeeping duties with personal assistant tasks, offering a varied and fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process and reconcile bank accounts.
• Assist with month‑end procedures and raise necessary journal entries.
• Maintain up‑to‑date cashbook and general ledger entries.
• Process petty cash and credit‑card transactions.
• Reconcile creditors’ accounts.
• Perform general administrative duties while ensuring confidentiality.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Assist in preparing financial reports for management.
• Carry out personal assistant duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum Matric diploma.
• 1–2 years experience in bookkeeping (debtors & creditors).
• Experience with bookkeeping systems.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of Outlook.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.

What we offer

• Salary range R10 000 – R12 000 per month, dependent on experience.
