Asset Intelligence Engineer Internship (South Africa)

About the role

The company is looking for an ambitious and energetic individual for a six‑month internship as an Asset Intelligence Engineer, supporting the Candi Asset Management team in delivering high performance across its solar portfolio in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Daily real‑time monitoring of the solar power plant portfolio and detection of issues or anomalies.
• Conduct (pre‑)diagnostics on identified issues and support Technical Asset Management in tracking and solving plant problems.
• Maintain the database for monthly performance monitoring and validate contextualised performance indicators.
• Perform performance‑improvement analytics.
• Onboard new assets onto the Asset Intelligence platform, including data validation and portal integration.
• Assist Asset Data Acquisition with data‑logger troubleshooting and data validation.
• Support the global Asset Intelligence team with ecosystem and tool development and maintenance.

Required profile

• University graduate (BTech/BEng/Electrical Engineering/Energy Systems/Data Science).
• Basic knowledge of electrical power systems.
• Highly analytical in data processing and evaluation.
• Critical thinking and data validation skills.
• Data dashboarding/visualisation knowledge.
• Programming skills in Python are a plus.
• Fundamental machine‑learning knowledge is a plus.
• Desire to work in an international, multicultural environment.
