Area Sales Manager

About the role

Our client seeks an experienced Area Sales Manager to join their Durban branch, focusing on the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) market. You will drive sales growth, increase market share, and build lasting customer relationships while meeting monthly and annual targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic sales plans and budgets aligned with company objectives.
• Promote and market divisional products and services within the assigned territory.
• Analyse market trends and sales performance to identify growth opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities.
• Address customer enquiries and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Prepare quotations and manage business opportunities through CRM and IFS systems.
• Maintain accurate customer records, sales reports, and activity reports.
• Ensure efficient administration of all equipment sales activities.

Required profile

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate); a degree or diploma in Sales or a related field is advantageous.
• 5–7 years of proven sales experience.
• 3–5 years of experience within the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) industry or a related field.
• Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong customer relationship management and business development abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems.
• Experience using the IFS enterprise resource planning system.
