Area Sales Manager – Gauteng Region

About the role

Würth South Africa is seeking an Area Sales Manager to act as a brand ambassador and lead a team of Customer Sales Consultants across the Pretoria, Hammanskraal, Midrand, Centurion and Johannesburg South regions. The role focuses on driving sales growth, managing customer relationships and implementing the company’s multichannel strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an up‑to‑date planning system for all customers in the assigned area.
• Lead, motivate and support a team of Customer Sales Consultants to achieve monthly and annual budgets.
• Accountable for sales growth, profit margins and customer balance growth of each team member.
• Coach, develop and conduct regular performance reviews with the sales team.
• Travel with consultants up to 15 days per month and ensure accurate reporting and administration.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and identify business development opportunities.
• Recruit, select and manage new consultants and handle disciplinary matters as required.

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent; pursuing or completed a marketing or business degree/diploma is advantageous.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a Sales Manager with a proven sales track record.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking and emotional‑quotient capabilities.
• Clear disciplinary, criminal, and credit records.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office.
