Area Sales Manager – FMCG Perishable Foods (Pretoria Area)

About the role

The client, a leading commercial egg producer, is seeking an Area Sales Manager for the Greater Pretoria region. This full‑time, field‑based position will cover Pretoria, Soshanguve, Mabopane, Mamelodi, Brits, Hartebeespoort and Garankuwa, reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new sales leads and grow business across the assigned territory.
• Collect market data on pricing, trends and competitor activity.
• Handle customer queries, complaints and manage credit returns.
• Ensure proper shelf‑stock rotation, expiry monitoring and storage conditions.
• Coordinate with telesales to secure timely orders.
• Supervise store‑level merchandisers and improve product delivery turnaround.
• Provide regular formal and informal reports on performance.

Required profile

• Matriculation (Grade 12) with fluency in English and local South African languages.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• 3‑5 years of sales experience in the FMCG perishable foods sector.
• Ability to work independently, including weekends and public holidays.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
