Architectural Technologist – 3D Modeling & Design

About the role

The Johannesburg office of a global engineering firm is seeking an Architectural Technologist to produce 3‑D models, 2‑D drawings and technical documentation across a range of projects from concept to construction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver coordinated 3D models, 2D drawings and contract documentation in line with project requirements.
• Maintain and apply Architectural CAD standards across all deliverables.
• Prepare project‑specific and typical design details and coordinate with consultants and other disciplines.
• Review and check drawings for quality, accuracy and compliance before issue.
• Support project delivery through meetings, technical coordination and construction documentation.
• Conduct site visits to verify conditions and provide technical support to site teams.

Required profile

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Technology or Built Environment, SACAP‑accredited.
• SACAP registration as a Professional Senior Architectural Technologist.
• 5–10 years’ experience in an architectural practice, including council submissions and multidisciplinary projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and strong knowledge of SANS standards and South African building regulations.
• Ability to work independently, strong coordination, planning and organisational skills.
