Architect – 5-10 years experience (Cape Town)

About the role

GAPP Architects & Urban Designers is looking for a professional architect to join its Cape Town office. You will work on a variety of high‑profile projects, from hospitality venues to mixed‑use developments, collaborating with a supportive and creative team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design development and produce detailed construction documentation for stages 2 to 4 of architectural projects.
• Manage procurement processes and oversee contract administration throughout the construction phase.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design intent is maintained from concept through to completion.
• Produce 3D visualisations and renderings using SketchUp, Revit, Enscape or similar tools.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative office culture.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of post‑qualification experience as a registered architect.
• Formal architectural qualification from a recognised institution and valid SACAP registration as PrArch.
• Positive attitude, strong team spirit and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to multitask on multiple projects simultaneously.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Advanced skills in Revit.
• Experience with Enscape or other rendering solutions.
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite.
