Apparel Team Leader – Cape Town (Canal Walk)

About the role

The Apparel Team Leader will manage and grow the new apparel brand at Canal Walk, Cape Town. Working closely with the Store Manager, you will be accountable for store operations, sales performance and customer experience during your shift.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day store operations including sales, after‑sales, stock, merchandising and loss‑prevention.
• Lead, motivate and develop the sales consultants and associates on your shift.
• Maintain store standards, visual merchandising, planogram compliance and cleanliness.
• Execute stock administration, daily inventory checks and reporting.
• Manage opening and closing procedures, security and key controls.
• Support loss‑prevention measures such as RFID tagging and shrinkage controls.
• Deliver regular performance reports and contribute ideas for operational improvement.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a retail or service‑oriented environment, managing a small team.
• Experience in apparel, clothing or fashion retail is essential.
• Relevant post‑matric qualifications or working towards them.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of retail procedures, standards and loss‑prevention protocols.
• Ability to coach, motivate and develop team members.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Comfortable handling data, preparing reports and providing insights.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk and lift items for extended periods.
