Apparel Sales Consultant – Cape Town (Canal Walk)

About the role

The Apparel Sales Consultant will help launch and grow a new apparel brand at Canal Walk, delivering an outstanding customer experience and meeting sales targets. The role focuses on front‑of‑house activities, visual merchandising and loss‑prevention while working flexible shifts across the week.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a friendly, engaging customer experience and maintain a lively store atmosphere.
• Participate in store meetings to share performance, celebrate achievements and identify training needs.
• Ensure adherence to trading hours, opening/closing procedures and adequate staffing.
• Maintain store appearance, stock levels, signage, planograms and seasonal style guides.
• Support front‑of‑house operations, including pricing, promotions and donation handling.
• Monitor and mitigate loss, flagging any issues that affect sales activities.
• Contribute ideas for improving customer experience, campaigns and store operations.
• Assist the broader Apparel team and other stores on projects as required.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in a retail or service‑oriented environment, preferably in apparel or fashion.
• High energy, enthusiastic, well‑groomed, reliable and punctual.
• Team‑oriented with strong interpersonal skills, able to adapt approach to different customers.
• Problem‑solver, quick thinker, adaptable to change and able to work under pressure.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to execute visual merchandising standards.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Physically capable of standing, walking, lifting and climbing ladders for extended periods.
• Strong integrity, compliance mindset and adherence to health & safety and loss‑prevention policies.
