Air Import Agent (Forwarding)

About the role

The Air Import Agent is responsible for end‑to‑end coordination, processing and monitoring of air import shipments. You will ensure timely, compliant and cost‑effective delivery while providing best‑in‑class customer service. The role supports the local department strategy through operational excellence and proactive customer engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage air import shipments from origin to final delivery.
• Receive, verify and process shipping documentation such as HAWB/MAWB, invoices and packing lists.
• Monitor shipment milestones, track cargo and proactively manage delays or exceptions.
• Liaise with airlines, origin offices, warehouses, customs service providers and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, airline requirements and internal SOPs.
• Maintain accurate data entry within freight management systems.
• Provide regular shipment updates and high‑quality customer service.
• Support billing accuracy, cost control and account reconciliation in collaboration with Finance.
• Prepare customer reports and assist with KPI performance tracking.
• Provide weekend, public holiday and after‑hours operational support as scheduled.

Required profile

• Sound knowledge of the global logistics and supply chain industry.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in an international or global logistics environment.
• Previous experience in a similar or related role is a strong advantage.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or a related field is advantageous.
• Fluency in English with good written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
