AI Engineer – Build In-House Agent Framework

About the role

Swiss Build is creating an in‑house AI framework powered by Claude to automate and augment business processes. As an AI Engineer you will design, develop, and maintain multi‑agent systems that serve the entire organisation, working closely with senior leadership to turn strategic ideas into operational AI solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents and sub‑agents using Claude and related SDKs to automate workflows, decision support, and reporting.
• Lead the internal AI centre of excellence, defining future hiring needs as the platform scales.
• Collaborate with Executive and Management‑Committee stakeholders to translate business problems into agent requirements, prioritize use cases, and report ROI.
• Define and implement the infrastructure strategy for continuous model learning, including data pipelines, security, and governance.
• Establish testing, monitoring, and safety guardrails for production agents, ensuring accuracy, auditability, and escalation paths.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of prompts, workflows, integrations, and framework architecture.
• Stay current with Claude/Anthropic updates and broader agentic‑AI developments, recommending adoption where valuable.
• Manage data‑privacy, security, and compliance (e.g., POPIA) for all AI systems.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or AI/ML engineering.
• Hands‑on experience building with large language models or agent frameworks such as Claude, OpenAI, LangChain, or AutoGen.
• Proven track record integrating AI solutions into real business workflows, not just prototypes.
