About the role

Old Mutual is seeking an Advancing Financial Adviser to serve clients across Umhlanga, La Lucia, Phoenix, Verulam, KwaMashu and surrounding areas of Durban. The role involves providing financial advice and selling appropriate financial products.

Key responsibilities

Required profile

• Matric or equivalent qualification
• At least 12 months experience in financial services as a Financial Adviser
• Completion of Long‑term Insurance Class of Business
• Additional FAIS qualifications such as Investments Class of Business or RE5 desirable
• Valid driver’s licence and own car
• Clear criminal and credit check
• Computer literacy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong planning and organising abilities
• Ability to collate, analyse and synthesise information
• Entrepreneurial mindset and sound business acumen
• Grit, resilience and tenacity
• Excellent listening skills to translate customer engagements into sales
