Admitted Attorney – Contract Administrator (M&A & Advisory)

About the role

Our client seeks a commercially minded admitted attorney to move beyond traditional legal practice and work at the intersection of law, business, tax, finance and dealmaking. You will collaborate with advisory, tax, accounting and finance professionals, gaining exposure to the full lifecycle of corporate transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review commercial and transaction documentation, including agreements for mergers, acquisitions, disposals and restructurings.
• Conduct legal, tax and commercial due diligence, identify key transaction risks and prepare board resolutions, closing checklists and implementation documents.
• Research South African corporate and tax legislation, and assist in developing tax‑efficient transaction structures.
• Participate in client meetings, support senior advisors and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across tax, accounting and finance.

Required profile

• Admitted attorney who has completed articles and is eager to work on commercial law and corporate transactions.
• Strong analytical, research and problem‑solving abilities with a keen interest in M&A, corporate finance, tax structuring and transaction advisory.
• Excellent communicator comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients on strategic commercial matters.
