About the role
The Department of Defence is offering a wide range of entry‑level administration and support positions across its naval and public service facilities in South Africa. These roles are designed for candidates with Grade 12 or higher qualifications and provide a pathway into the public sector workforce.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain records, archives and registry information across naval and defence facilities.
- Provide general administrative and HR support to fleet command, naval bases and the Department’s headquarters.
- Assist with provisioning, food service and basic facility upkeep such as handyman and cleaning tasks.
Required profile
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent qualification; supervisory positions require a Diploma (NQF Level 6) in a related field.
- Minimum three years functional experience for supervisory roles; entry‑level positions accept candidates with no prior experience.
- Ability to work onsite at locations including Pretoria, Simon’s Town, Durban and other naval bases.
