Administration Clerk – Patient Affairs

About the role

The Department of Health is seeking an Administration Clerk for Patient Affairs at Sebokeng Hospital. The role focuses on registering patients, managing their records and supporting the flow of information using the SAP/HIS systems.

Key responsibilities

• Register patients on SAP, admit, discharge and transfer them using the SAP‑HIS system.
• Capture accurate patient information in electronic and manual registers and schedule follow‑up appointments.
• Compile and submit reports and records in a timely manner.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with the Records Management Act and PAIA.
• Order and manage stock required for the patient affairs unit.
• Perform additional duties delegated by the supervisor and provide relief in other departments as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• At least one year of experience in a medical environment (advantageous).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑oriented attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure, adapt to shift rotations and comply with confidentiality requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Computer literacy with ability to use SAP and HIS systems.
• Experience with PAAB or similar hospital information systems.
