Accounts Receivable Team Lead

About the role

MRI Software in Cape Town is seeking a dynamic Accounts Receivable Team Leader to oversee the department’s functions, guide a team of AR Analysts, and introduce innovative processes that improve accuracy and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a team of AR Analysts, overseeing client contact to secure outstanding balances.
• Administer collection software to track contacts and automate collection functions.
• Lead regular meetings with senior leadership to discuss delinquency issues.
• Collaborate with Legal, Sales and Finance departments on joint collection efforts and contract obligations.
• Assist accounting with Bad Debt Reserve calculations and month‑end close processes.
• Research and resolve client disputes, escalating when necessary.
• Continuously improve KPIs such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and recommend process enhancements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field.
• Five or more years managing a large accounts‑receivable team.
• Five or more years of performance management and employee development experience.
• Strong ability to resolve client discrepancies and knowledge of billing systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
