Accounts Payable Supervisor – Lyttelton Campus

About the role

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will lead the end‑to‑end payable function for the Lyttelton Campus, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time while maintaining strong supplier relationships. This position operates in a fast‑paced environment and reports to the Manager of Financial Accounting (Reporting).

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Accounts Payable department and mentor the team.
• Process supplier invoices, credit notes and payments accurately and within deadlines.
• Review and approve supplier reconciliations and payment runs.
• Monitor AP ageing, resolve supplier queries and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Onboard new suppliers and maintain vendor master data.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and prepare AP performance reports.
• Assist internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance and other departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Handle VAT submission and reconciliation, and ensure proper GL allocations.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
• 2‑5 years of accounting experience in a financial reporting environment.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated and able to work under tight deadlines.
