Accounts Clerk

About the role

ELM Trading is looking for a qualified Accounts Clerk to join its team in Midrand. The role focuses on supporting the Accounts Department by handling day‑to‑day financial administration, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and providing high‑quality customer service. The successful candidate will be organised, reliable and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Accounts Department, including filing and stationery ordering.
• Record transactions accurately in the computerised accounting system.
• Manage full debtor and creditor functions and respond to related queries.
• Liaise with internal departments, customers and suppliers as required.
• Process orders, quotations, invoices and related documentation.
• Monitor outstanding tasks, meet deadlines and report progress to management.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric; relevant qualification advantageous.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar accounting or administrative role.
• Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail.
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
