Accounts Clerk – Isipingo, Durban

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and organized Accounts Clerk to join our finance team in Prospecton. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day‑to‑day accounting operations of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and employee expense claims
• Capture and reconcile creditor accounts
• Prepare payment batches and process EFT payments
• Manage debtor accounts and follow up on outstanding payments
• Issue customer invoices and credit notes
• Perform daily bank reconciliations
• Capture financial transactions on the accounting system (Pastel/Sage/QuickBooks or similar)
• Maintain and update the general ledger
• File and organize financial documents and supporting documentation
• Assist with month‑end procedures and reports
• Respond to supplier and customer account queries
• Prepare basic financial reports as required
• Maintain filing systems (both electronic and physical)
• Assist with ad‑hoc financial administrative tasks

Required profile

• Matric/Grade 12 certificate (essential)
• Diploma or certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping (advantageous)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounts/bookkeeping role
• Experience with accounting software (Pastel, Sage, or similar)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic MS Office applications
