Accounts Clerk – Fixed-Term (FTC) – Central Services

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Clerk on a fixed‑term basis to support the Central Services accounting function. The role involves updating, verifying and reconciling general ledger accounts while providing general office administration support.

Key responsibilities

• Process journal entries accurately and timely.
• Maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts.
• Ensure supporting documentation is complete and available for review.
• Create purchase requisitions on SAP for Central Services.
• Facilitate the creation and receipting of purchase orders.
• Ensure timely processing of supplier payments.
• Verify the accuracy of supporting financial documentation.
• Prepare and submit payment requisitions and cash‑book payment requests.
• Assist with the preparation and processing of payment schedules.
• Monitor outstanding payments and resolve payment‑related queries.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts up to review stage.
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items within agreed timeframes.
• Process daily bank‑related journals accurately and on time.
• Prepare weekly and monthly bank reconciliations.

Required profile

• Matriculation Certificate and studying towards a relevant accounting qualification.
• 2‑3 years of experience in a general accounting or administrative role.
• Computer literacy (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Pro‑active with good time‑management, organisational and prioritising abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, multitask and be a team player.
