Accounts Clerk – Durban (R12k‑R15k per month)

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accounts Clerk to join our finance team in Prospecton, Durban. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day‑to‑day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, employee expense claims and prepare payment batches, including EFT payments.
• Manage creditor and debtor accounts, issue customer invoices and credit notes, and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Perform daily bank reconciliations and capture transactions in accounting software such as Pastel, Sage or QuickBooks.
• Assist with month‑end procedures, file and organise financial documents, and prepare basic financial reports.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) certificate; a diploma or certificate in Accounting/Bookkeeping is advantageous.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a similar accounts or bookkeeping role.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (Pastel, Sage, QuickBooks or similar).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and basic MS Office knowledge.
