Accounting & Audit Manager – Pretoria

About the role

A well‑established accounting and audit firm in Pretoria is looking for an experienced Accounting & Audit Manager. The role suits a technically strong professional with solid public practice experience who can manage client portfolios, oversee accounting and audit engagements, and guide junior and intermediate team members while maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance and service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of accounting and audit clients, overseeing bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Plan, manage and review audit and assurance engagements, ensuring audit files meet required standards.
• Prepare and review annual financial statements and tax computations, including VAT, PAYE and other SARS compliance requirements.
• Review reconciliations, journals, management accounts and financial records, identifying issues and providing solutions.
• Supervise, support and review the work of junior team members and assist with deadline management.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
• Professional designation such as CA(SA), SAIPA, CIMA or equivalent (advantageous).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an accounting and/or audit firm.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, accounting standards and SARS tax compliance.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
