Accountant – Manufacturing (Syspro)

About the role

A leading client in the manufacturing industry is looking to hire an Accountant to join its team in Bapsfontein, Benoni. The position is permanent and covers accounts payable, receivables, general ledger and VAT, with a focus on manufacturing accounting.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable, cash book (bank and petty cash)
• General ledger from journal entries to trial balance, including monthly VAT schedule and VAT reconciliations with the balance sheet
• Sales orders, invoicing, purchase orders and work in progress tracking
• Requirements planning, bill of materials and calendar updates on work centers
• Supplier reconciliation, payment lists and budget forecast for provisional tax every six months
• Annual income tax provision schedule, asset register and RMA declarations
• Commission payouts, salary, leave and bonus calculations, and time sheets for weekly-paid labour-broker employees
• Wage, leave and bonus calculations, price updates, inspection and proforma invoice reconciliation
• Inventory stock takes and cycle counts

Required profile

• BCom Accounting or a similar qualification
• 10 years of experience in a similar role
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is an added advantage

Required skills

• Syspro experience, or similar systems such as SAP, VIP or Oracle
• Advanced Excel
