Accountant

About the role

Lexdan Select is assisting a property company based in Paardevlei, Somerset West to recruit an Accountant. The position is full‑time, fully onsite and offers a salary of R35 000–R40 000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full bank reconciliations, creditor processing and VAT submissions for 16 group entities.
• Process journals, maintain the general ledger and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Maintain amortisation schedules, manage inter‑company balances and perform related reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, project accounting for new builds and annual budgets.
• Handle banking operations, credit‑card reconciliations and weekly cash‑flow forecasting.
• Manage tenant billing, recoveries, rental and electricity usage and oversee debtor follow‑ups.
• Reconcile payroll journals, including salaries, PAYE, UIF and leave provisions.
• Support annual valuations and audits and assist the FM/CFO with ad‑hoc duties.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 3–4 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Experience in the property or real‑estate sector is advantageous.
