Accountant

About the role

Our client, a well‑established financial services group, is looking for a highly skilled Accountant to join their team. The role offers the chance to work across procurement, general ledger, management reporting and sales accounting, supporting the organisation’s financial integrity and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Review primary source documents and ensure compliance with group policies, budget limits and authority levels for procurement.
• Perform cash book reviews, bank and supplier reconciliations, and maintain fixed‑asset registers.
• Process complex journal entries, prepare balance‑sheet reconciliation schedules and verify intercompany transactions.
• Prepare and review payroll information, age analysis for customers and suppliers, and ensure timely follow‑up of variances.
• Produce accurate management accounts, update forecasts, monthly cash‑flow statements and support budget preparation.
• Develop and maintain management‑information reporting templates and calculate revenue figures with supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or equivalent (BCom, BCompt (Acc)).
• Completed articles and at least 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (Accountant I) or completed articles with 3 years experience or 8 years overall experience (Accountant II).
