Accountant – Full‑time, On‑site in Cape Town

About the role

This is an in‑office, full‑time accountant role based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town. You will own the accounting function and provide decision‑making support to other business areas.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Assist the Financial Manager with budgets and forecasts.
• Maintain the general ledger through to the trial balance.
• Analyse variances, spot trends and improve company performance.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly cash forecasts.
• Liaise with department managers for value‑added variance analysis.
• Load, authorise and approve bank payments.
• Conduct sales analysis by product and user.
• Compile ad‑hoc reports as requested.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet line items monthly.
• Manage the audit process with external auditors.
• Oversee payroll management and administration.

Required profile

• BCom/BAcc degree in Finance/Accounting.
• SAICA/SAIPA/CIMA membership or completed article clerkship.
• Experience in a tech or hosting environment is an advantage.

Required skills

• ERP systems: Xero, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Online, QuickBooks.
• Advanced Excel.
• Payroll management and administration.
• Experience with various banking platforms.
• Basic understanding of API, AI and SQL.
