Accountant – Financial Reporting & Treasury

About the role

Dentsu is looking for an Accountant to support accounting and financial reporting for its SSA and Uganda entities. The role involves end‑to‑end accounting tasks, month‑end close, and interaction with regional stakeholders. It is a permanent position based in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations.
• Prepare month‑end journals and financial reports.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process invoices and payment schedules.
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Manage debtor collections and ageing reports.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations and recharges.
• Support VAT, EMP201 and other tax administration.
• Prepare ABI and Forex exposure reports.
• Assist internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Respond to finance and stakeholder queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls.
• Understanding of compliance requirements.
• Strong Excel and accounting‑systems proficiency.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Comfortable with financial data, reconciliations, month‑end reporting and multiple regional stakeholders.
